Coronavirus Update

In these uncertain times, we want to give you peace of mind when it comes to booking The Boys Dormitory. We have closed the apartment until the end of June, but are taking bookings from July onward. If the UK government is still advising us all to Stay At Home from July onward, we will allow free cancellation for bookings until that is lifted.

Our cleaning team will be working harder than ever to ensure the very highest hygiene standards at the abbey.  As part of this, the management company have closed the indoor pool, steam room / sauna and gym, as well as the billiards room and table tennis in order to reduce contact for the foreseeable future. If at the time of your visit these facilities are still closed, we will refund you 20% of your accommodation fee (excluding cleaning.)

The Scottish Highlands is one of the most peaceful places we know.  In these times of uncertainty and chaos around the world, peace and quiet seem in short supply. Siting quietly with a cup of coffee watching the sun rise over Loch Ness debating which hill walk you’d like to do today, or celebrating the sunset with a glass of wine, watching the light change across the dark waters of the Loch and wondering if … just today… you might see those mysterious humps ripple across the Loch – well, those special moments are even more important right now!

Stay safe,

The Perfect Honeymoon or Romantic Break Destination

The Boys Dormitory is a spacious one bedroom apartment positioned on the vaulted top floor of the Victorian monastery. The huge arched stone mullioned windows face in three directions with every window offering sensational views of the landscape. The monastery is undoubtedly the finest building at the Abbey and in the most prominent position, directly overlooking Loch Ness, the cloisters and gardens.

The bright apartment is decorated in a luxurious style, combining quality antique and modern furnishings, featuring Victorian pictures, floorboards and vintage lighting sourced from a local chapel and with wonderful attention to detail throughout. The most idyllic place, a far cry from when up to 40 junior boys shared what was one of the original boarding school dormitories, located between the Abbot’s chapel and a lovely bell tower.

The large living room and open plan kitchen offers the very finest level of comfort including two luxurious designer sofas. The view from the stone mullioned living room window straight up the loch is truly spectacular: a perfect seat to while away the afternoon reading a good novel, or watching for the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

The gorgeous master bedroom features a massive stone mullioned arched window overlooking the Cloister Gardens, the turrets and towers of the Abbey, and the mountains beyond. King-sized antique brass and iron bed, Victorian oak pew, luxurious bed linens, choice of feather or fibre pillows, to ensure total relaxation for the duration of your stay.
