Coronavirus Update

In line with the latest Government guidelines, we will welcome guests from mid July onwards. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to review our operations and have adapted our arrival and cleaning processes to ensure you will enjoy a memorable holiday without compromising your safety.

We have always employed five-star cleaning protocols throughout our apartment, and recent events have meant we have elevated these standards to even higher levels. Our cleaning team have invested in specialist fogging equipment to sanitise and kill bacteria and viruses on every surface in the apartment.

Our housekeeping team have been trained in these advanced sanitation methods. The Boys Dormitory and the abbey itself will be sanitised using this misting/fogging technique, originally developed for hospital operating theatres for deep cleaning purposes. The atomised sanitation product kills 99.9% of all bacteria and viruses on every surface. The apartment will be treated after every let, then all the rooms will be dehumidified and aired.

The new hygiene protocol that we’ve adopted has doubled our cleaning costs, but we’ve decided not to pass these additional costs onto our guests. We will continue to use these cleaning methods until we are in calmer times.

The Scottish government is implementing a contact tracing system, and so we’ll ask you to fill out a contact form prior to your arrival, as part of that process.  This ensures that if you do come into contact with someone who then goes on to display COVID symptoms you can be notified.

The Perfect Honeymoon or Romantic Break Destination

The Boys Dormitory is a spacious one bedroom apartment positioned on the vaulted top floor of the Victorian monastery. The huge arched stone mullioned windows face in three directions with every window offering sensational views of the landscape. The monastery is undoubtedly the finest building at the Abbey and in the most prominent position, directly overlooking Loch Ness, the cloisters and gardens.

The bright apartment is decorated in a luxurious style, combining quality antique and modern furnishings, featuring Victorian pictures, floorboards and vintage lighting sourced from a local chapel and with wonderful attention to detail throughout. The most idyllic place, a far cry from when up to 40 junior boys shared what was one of the original boarding school dormitories, located between the Abbot’s chapel and a lovely bell tower.

The large living room and open plan kitchen offers the very finest level of comfort including two luxurious designer sofas. The view from the stone mullioned living room window straight up the loch is truly spectacular: a perfect seat to while away the afternoon reading a good novel, or watching for the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

The gorgeous master bedroom features a massive stone mullioned arched window overlooking the Cloister Gardens, the turrets and towers of the Abbey, and the mountains beyond. King-sized antique brass and iron bed, Victorian oak pew, luxurious bed linens, choice of feather or fibre pillows, to ensure total relaxation for the duration of your stay.

The Scottish Highlands is one of the most peaceful places we know.  Sitting quietly with a cup of coffee watching the sun rise over Loch Ness debating which hill walk you’d like to do today, or celebrating the sunset with a glass of wine, watching the light change across the dark waters of the Loch and wondering if … just today… you might see those mysterious humps ripple across the Loch – well, those special moments are what memories are made of!
